My Advice Service could be what you need. I endeavour to bring a sense of proportion to the challenges residents and businesses face from bureaucratic, and often unhelpful, Councils.
I place great importance on being mindful of our quality of life. When we are forced to deal with difficult and egocentric Councils it is essential to identify exactly what the desired outcome is.
As a Consultant, I have worked closely with Junior Barristers, Solicitors, Planning Consultants, Councillors, and Council Officers to achieve appropriate results for my clients.
I have assisted in having a Planning approval quashed by Judicial Review, securing Planning approvals, bringing together successful objections to Planning applications, challenging parking enforcement, and correlating documents for legal cases.
Since 2010, I have established a proven track record of holding Councils to account. By successfully challenging numerous Councils for many years I have gained an extensive understanding of how Councils work. To complement this, between 2016 and 2019 I was an Independent Councillor at the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. This gave me a revealing insight from the inside on how to navigate an often faceless and unhelpful system.
Sometimes the approach to dealing with the challenge faced can be very straightforward, so I generally do not recommend too early recourse to expensive legal representation. In many cases, I would advise against no-win, no-fee arrangements.
Levels Of Assistance
I offer 3 levels of assistance:
- Half Hour Appointments – Up to 30 minutes for £40
- Advice Service – Up to 3 hours for £195
- Consultancy – Fee by agreement
