County Tops

A County top is the highest point of a county.  A county top may not be in the heart of a county; many indeed are at the edges, where the county boundary runs over a ridge or watershed.

On Monday 24 September 2012 I completed my challenge to become the first person to sleep on all 52 county tops of England and Wales, of which 49 were in my bivy bag.

England

I have slept on the summit of all 39 County Tops in England.

Westmorland – Helvellyn

Wales

I have slept on the summit of all 13 County Tops in Wales.

Cardiganshire – Pen Pumlumon Fawr
