In 2009 my hobby of sleeping in remote locations changed focus from islands to extreme points and from Scotland to England. On 30/31 March 2009 I enjoyed my first night in a bivy bag in England at Marshall Meadow Bay, the Northernmost Point of England.

By the very nature of an extreme point location, it is rarely possible to erect a tent there. Thus this change in focus resulted in my Bivy Bag becoming a vital piece of my kit.
